Dan Hampton

Dan co-founded Mission One with 15 years of recruiting experience in his back pocket. Most recently, he was a founding member and partner in True’s Games, Entertainment, Media, and Sports practice, after joining as their first hire in Toronto. He has helped companies such as Scopely, Epic Games, FightCamp, Mistplay – and many others – find their ideal candidates, while building an international network along the way.

Dan’s interest in the gaming and tech industry isn’t restricted to work hours. He has been passionate about video games since he was old enough to use a gamepad and still enjoys Mario Party, Starcraft, and GTA.

A former US Air Force Captain, Dan holds an MA in Marketing from the University of Southern California and a BA in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma.

"Carpe Diem or “seize the day” is one of the most powerful messages in human history - careers are finite, one should make them count. Grab the opportunity that every day presents and try to work with the best people and environments that you can"

Gerard Miles

Gerard enjoys connecting people, it is the start and end point of his passion for headhunting. He has had the good fortune to overlap his interest in people with his personal enjoyment of playing computer games. Gerard previously founded the games team at True, building it up to an international group that worked on some of the top searches in the industry. After reading “The Infinite Game” by Simon Sinek, Gerard was inspired to explore what it would be to work in an organization that was mission driven and subsequently co-founded Mission One with Dan.

Gerard’s work with companies such as King and Epic Games has cemented his global reputation for excellence in identifying and placing exceptional leaders.

Gerard read Theology at Oxford University before training for the Bar at Nottingham Law School. Outside of the office he is the proud dad of two boys, and when he gets the time is a fan of both board and computer games. Some of his favorite titles include Morrowind, Zelda Ocarina of Time, the Total War Franchise, and X-Com.

Work with us

We’re defiantly different from other exec search firms

At Mission One, purpose is more important than targets, and great culture trumps blind growth. We help people flourish in their careers via quality mentorship, openness, and fair compensation. Mission One has been built around the infinite mindset concept developed by author and inspirational speaker, Simon Sinek. This quote from his book explains better than we ever could why an infinite mindset is at the core of our company.

Simon says: “Our journey is to feel inspired every morning, safe when we’re at work and fulfilled at the end of each day. And when it’s our time to leave the game, we will look back at our lives and our careers and say, ‘I lived a life worth living’, but even more importantly, when imagining what the future holds, we’ll see how many people we inspired to carry on the journey without us.”
